I was walking down the towpath of the canal when I saw one of the treecreepers crawling up the side of the tree. I set up my camera ready to take the shot when the other treecreeper came into the frame and I was thinking how lucky I was to have two treecreepers in the same frame together but then I really couldn't have believed my luck as one started passing what looked like a grub to the other one.

This was a struggle to get this clear shot of the Treecreeper as I'm sure most other wildlife photographers know. Once they land near the base of the tree they make their way up the trunk and if you're lucky they stay on one side of the trunk so you get a good view of them but this one kept spiraling around the trunk as it went up the tree, keeping me in my toes and getting me dizzy &128516. It did for a moment stay still which enabled me to get the shot you see on here.

May 10 the northern lights hit a G5 storm, a KP index of 9, the highest it will go, and the best storm we've seen in over 20 years. I drove my 10 year old son north to see them, this was a chance of a lifetime. I managed to get several amazing photos. Canon R6M2, RF10-20mm lens at 10mm, 30sec at f4, iso 1000, manual focusing. This was looking more north-west as most of the bright colours could be seen to the south, west and just north of us.

Around 2pm, when we though the "show was over", the lights started getting incredibly bright, and that is when this picture was taken. Last February, I left Sydney with my friends at 6pm to capture the first Milky Way view of 2024. I was very anxious because I saw a lot of clouds on the way, but I was really happy to see clear skies as I passed Newcastle. When we arrived at the lighthouse, fortunately we were the only ones in the group, so we were able to take photos without any disturbance. The lighthouse light, which was not too bright, was very helpful in filming.
