Come and join us as we explore composition in photography.

Composition is one of the most critical element in photography. Composition is how a photographer arranges the visual elements within their image, frame. I promise you that if you search for information on composition you will find plenty You will find formal rules, opinion, some of which you can trace back to historical art movements and painters.

Even in the digital world, composition remains the key to creating strong images. Composition is what guides our eye through an image and gives importance to the subject. It creates the story for the viewer and how we as photographers convey that message.

This meetup will explore composition using our frame and tools available to us as the photographer.

I was walking down the towpath of the canal when I saw one of the treecreepers crawling up the side of the tree. I set up my camera ready to take the shot when the other treecreeper came into the frame and I was thinking how lucky I was to have two treecreepers in the same frame together but then I really couldn't have believed my luck as one started passing what looked like a grub to the other one.

At about 3:30 am, the leader got us up and we drove, then hiked to this spot. We took astro shots, then waited in place for a couple hours until early light on the cathedral formations. The day before taking the shot, I drove up to RMNP to scout a possible Milky Way shot with Nymph Lake in the foreground.
