Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Preston .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

    The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

    Sana Burney
    Burney is a Fine Artist from Pakistan currently living and working in Peston, UK. She has a MA in Fine art from the University of Central Lancashire, UK. She received her BFA in Photography from the Department of Visual Studies, University of Karachi. Subsequently, she attended the PGD - Post Graduate Diploma program in Photography at the IVSAA-Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture in Karachi, Pakistan. She has taught Basic Design Studio to Foundation Program at IVSAA for over 12 years. Additionally, she delivered lectures and taught various courses on Art & Design, such as Fundamentals of Design, Darkroom Techniques, Introduction to Photography, Image Manipulation and History of Photography, at different prestigious universities of Karachi Szabists, Iqra and Karachi University.
    Burney is actively writing and researching art and design, particularly public art, in Karachi, Pakistan. She has published and presented several research papers in Pakistan and abroad, including Turkey and the USA. She has done gigantic public art projects of flyover beautification in Larkana and Karachi. Additionally, she has worked with Karachi Biennale as one of the 'Reel on Hai' artists. Reels were launched in March 2017 and placed in Safari Park. Freshly, she participated in Jade Montserrat's project mural drawing in March 2021 at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston, UK. Earlier, she also exhibited her installation works in London. Besides, she has exhibited at several art galleries in Pakistan, including an exhibition at the Canadian Embassy in Islamabad with the theme 'Hidden from the view'.
    Burney's art practice revolves around the themes of colonialism, post-colonial societies, racialized inequality, institutionalized racism, subordination, dependency, belonging and not belonging, capitalism, and the ideas of feminism.

    This was a struggle to get this clear shot of the Treecreeper as I'm sure most other wildlife photographers know. Once they land near the base of the tree they make their way up the trunk and if you're lucky they stay on one side of the trunk so you get a good view of them but this one kept spiraling around the trunk as it went up the tree, keeping me in my toes and getting me dizzy &128516. It did for a moment stay still which enabled me to get the shot you see on here.

    I'm a hobby photographer from Hungary, but we've living already in Preston for 10 years with my partner and son. He is our Frenchie, William and will be 8 years old soon. I took this photo during a walk, one early morning. My set is a Nikon Z6 with a Sigma 135mm lens. Only natural lights with some fine touch in Lightroom. 1/500s, ISO100 @f1.8.     According to NASA the Whirlpool Galaxy is located 31 million light years from earth (https://science.nasa.gov/mission/hubble/science/explore-the-night-sky/hubble-messier-catalog/messier-51/). It is a spiral galaxy made up of around 160 billion stars (like our sun). This image is a combination of 20 single images, each of 300 second exposure taken on the 15th January. They were stacked using Deep Sky Stacker and edited using Pixinsight and Photoshop. The equipment included a Skywatcher 200

    Was taken during my first hike of the year in the Lake District. Recently I have been lacking motivation and inspiration in photography.     Dearing the eclipse of 2017 my family and I sat in our backyard here in WA to watch the 93 totality with our eclipse glasses. With my homemade solar filter attached to my camera, I took a series of photos of the sun during the eclipse. After processing my sun photos, I was disappointed to see that the moon only showed up as a black hole and not its proper form. I am an avid shooter of Astro photography and have several photos of the moon taken from my backyard and multiple other locations. I

    I took this image on Nov. 2, 2021 at 7 am on Nov. 2, 2001 at 7 am. As I was driving around the Cove I came upon this Buck as I came up over a rise. I had a feeling that he was about to cross the road. My hunch was right. He crossed one fence and eventually crossed the other one. I was ready for his movement. I took a series over shots.
