Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Preston .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

    The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

  • PHOTOGRAPHERS
    Sana Burney
    Burney is a Fine Artist from Pakistan currently living and working in Peston, UK. She has a MA in Fine art from the University of Central Lancashire, UK. She received her BFA in Photography from the Department of Visual Studies, University of Karachi. Subsequently, she attended the PGD - Post Graduate Diploma program in Photography at the IVSAA-Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture in Karachi, Pakistan. She has taught Basic Design Studio to Foundation Program at IVSAA for over 12 years. Additionally, she delivered lectures and taught various courses on Art & Design, such as Fundamentals of Design, Darkroom Techniques, Introduction to Photography, Image Manipulation and History of Photography, at different prestigious universities of Karachi Szabists, Iqra and Karachi University.
    Burney is actively writing and researching art and design, particularly public art, in Karachi, Pakistan. She has published and presented several research papers in Pakistan and abroad, including Turkey and the USA. She has done gigantic public art projects of flyover beautification in Larkana and Karachi. Additionally, she has worked with Karachi Biennale as one of the 'Reel on Hai' artists. Reels were launched in March 2017 and placed in Safari Park. Freshly, she participated in Jade Montserrat's project mural drawing in March 2021 at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston, UK. Earlier, she also exhibited her installation works in London. Besides, she has exhibited at several art galleries in Pakistan, including an exhibition at the Canadian Embassy in Islamabad with the theme 'Hidden from the view'.
    Burney's art practice revolves around the themes of colonialism, post-colonial societies, racialized inequality, institutionalized racism, subordination, dependency, belonging and not belonging, capitalism, and the ideas of feminism.
